This ADA policy is written to establish operating and service guidelines and procedures for the implementation of the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), and the U.S. Department of Transportation regulations for implementing ADA (49 CFR Parts 27, 37 and 38). The Seneca Transit System operates services on a deviated fixed route basis. The Seneca Transit System complies with ADA requirements with respect to such services.
It is the policy of the Seneca Transit System to comply with all the legal requirements of federal laws and regulations as they pertain to individuals with disabilities. The transit system provides quality transportation services to all persons, without discrimination to any persons including those with disabilities. Discrimination on the basis of disability against any person by transit system employees will not be condoned or tolerated.
All complaints of discrimination on the basis of disability will be forwarded to the Transit Program Manager and promptly and objectively investigated. The Seneca Transit System will promptly communicate its response to the complaint allegations, including its reasons for the response, to the complainant. The response will be documented. Corrective or disciplinary action will be taken for behavior prohibited by this policy, up to and including termination of employment.
The complaint should be in writing and contain the information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant and location, date and description of the problem. The complaint should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation to:

Within 15 calendar days after receipt of the complaint, the Transit Manager will interview the complainant to discuss the complaint and the possible resolutions. Within 30 calendar days of the interview, the Transit Manager will respond in a format accessible to the complainant. The response will explain the position of the Seneca Transit System and offer options for substantive resolution of the complaints. The final resolution will be documented by the Transit Program Manager. All written complaints received by the Transit Program Manager will be retained by the Seneca Transit System for at least five years.
